Love your work and your site. The poem below is also inspired by St Maria
God Bless You
Jon
Kontakion (for St. Maria Skobstova)
You saw in each
The unblemished image,
The hallowed likeness,
Radiant with the Light of Tabor.
And through the open door, you offered to all,
The hospitality of Abraham;
The thief, the stranger, the outcast
Under the Oak of Mamre.
The abandoned and the abused,
Swaddled in the Protecting Veil
You chose the servant’s path,
Knowing that what is given is never lost,
But like the fallen grain,
Bears fruit a hundredfold.
And at the end,
You wore another’s death
Like a festal robe,
Passing through the open door
To your appointed Golgotha.
